Frugal Popcorn!

Emily sent a post for us:
We make microwave popcorn by putting about 1/4 - 1/3 cup of kernels into a brown paper bag (lunch bag size) and microwaving for about 2 minutes. Then just add whatever you usually do. It's convenient, less salty and tastes better than "real" microwave popcorn. What I also like between this and air popped, is it seems to be crispier... maybe my imagination. I'm sure you could reuse the paper bag.

  1. Do you fold over the edge of the bag? It stays contained in the bag? Picturing how a "real" micro bag of popcorn expands, I wanted to check first. :)

  2. I always fold it a couple times, and then place the bag, "folded side down". I honestly don't know however if that makes a difference or not. I've never had an issue though with the popcorn escaping.
